It’s finally happening! The Masters of the Universe live-action movie is in full production, and we’ve just got our first look at Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam. If you grew up watching He-Man (or still do—no judgment!), this one’s for you.

A Fresh Take on He-Man’s Origin Story

Forget what you know about Prince Adam’s backstory—this film is shaking things up. In this version, Adam isn’t raised in Eternia. Instead, as a child, he crash-lands on Earth and gets separated from his all-important Power Sword. Without it, he grows up thinking he’s just an ordinary guy. (We’ve all been there—well, minus the magic sword part.)

Fast forward nearly two decades, and Adam stumbles upon the sword again. That’s when everything changes. He learns the truth about his royal heritage, returns to Eternia, and gears up to take on Skeletor.

It’s a bold move to set part of the story on Earth, but it could make for an interesting new angle—especially for new audiences who aren’t familiar with the classic He-Man lore.

Who’s in the Movie?

The film is directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), and the cast is stacked with big names:

• Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Adam / He-Man

• Camila Mendes as Teela

• Idris Elba as Man-at-Arms

• Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn

• Jared Leto as Skeletor

If the idea of Jared Leto as Skeletor doesn’t intrigue you, I don’t know what will.

What the Set Photos Reveal

The first set photos from London give us a glimpse of Galitzine in Prince Adam’s classic pink outfit—yes, the one from the cartoons. He’s also sporting the signature He-Man hairstyle, which is a nice touch.

One of the most interesting details? The Power Sword is in the hands of local police. That definitely hints at a plot point where Adam has to reclaim it before making his way back to Eternia. We’re guessing that’ll be a major part of his character arc.

When’s the Release Date?

Mark your calendars for June 5th, 2026. There’s still a long wait ahead, but with these new set photos, the hype is officially building.
